Eric Boettcher

Eric joined UL in 1996 and has had several roles starting in Conformity Assessment Services (engineering) working on power distribution equipment, fuses, circuit breakers, heating elements, wire connectors, and others. A move in late 2000 to the Field Evaluation team made for a wide variety of evaluating electrical equipment in varying environments. Eric was introduced to the lighting protection team in 2003 and started performing inspections of installed systems at that time and in 2009 joined the lighting protection team as the technical advisor for US domestic installations.
Eric has been involved with the UL96/UL96A Standards Technical Panel (STP), the NFPA780 Technical Committee since 2010 and currently holds UL’s alternate committee seat for NFPA780, is one of the USA’s representatives for the IEC 62305 TC81 committee and is on the CSA B72 Technical Committee. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
