
Steve Martin
AT&T
A native of Knoxville, TN, Steve has 27 years experience in the telecommunications industry with BellSouth and AT&T. He currently serves on AT&T’s Global Engineering Support staff as the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Subject Matter Expert across AT&T’s global network. Steve is the author of AT&T’s power related engineering and installation standards published in Technical Publications ATT-TP-76300 and ATT-TP-76400. Industry related accomplishments and current or past memberships include:
• AT&T representative on FCC CSRIC IV WG9 “Infrastructure Sharing During Emergencies”.
• Invited Panelist, IEEE / INTELEC 2013 Extreme Events Workshop, “The Value of the Human Factor”.
• Telcordia Fire Protection Forum and Electrical/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Related Support Committees.
• Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) Environmental Group on Green – contributor to the “ATIS Report on Environmental Sustainability” and “ATIS Report on Wireless Energy Efficiency”.
• ATIS Sustainability in Telecom: Energy and Protection – Telecommunications Energy Efficiency (STEP-TEE) Committee.
• Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Smart Energy Society Council, whose mission is to drive the Smart Energy Economy and related job growth in Georgia.
• INTELEC 2012 and INTELEC 2014 Management Committee. Presented papers and served as a panelist and Session Chair at various telecommunications power industry forums, including INTELEC 2004, INTELEC 2010, Battcon 2011, and INTELEC 2012.
• Past member of Georgia Solar Energy Association (GSEA) and American Solar Energy Society (ASES).
• Prior to joining BellSouth in 1986, Steve worked in R&D for Martin Marietta Energy Systems Advanced Gas Centrifuge program in Oak Ridge, TN.
Steve holds a MSEE from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and BSEE from Tennessee Technological University and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
