The presentation covers recent changes to NFPA 110 in regards to the energy storage technologies and cranking times and the reasons for those changes. It will also cover the many newer technology/chemistry options (beyond traditional lead-acid, Ni-Cd, and compressed air) for starting stationary standby and emergency engines. Ongoing work on forthcoming IEEE standard P2685 will also be covered.
